I am your guide in fixing your story problems and getting your screenplay reader ready
I am a screenwriter. My TV Pilot ‘Blue River’ was a Quarterfinalist at Slamdance Film Festival, a Second Rounder for The Orchard Project Episodic Lab and has since been picked up by Art & Essai, a production company in Montreal, Canada, and invited to Netflix-BANFF Media Festival‘s Pitch Program. One of my feature-length screenplays ‘Off the Beaten Path’ was a Second Rounder at Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition.
Two of the films I’ve worked on as a script consultant are Francis Annan’s ‘Escape from Pretoria’ starring Daniel Radcliffe, and Erol Mintaş’s ‘Song of My Mother’ Winner of Best Film at 2014 Sarajevo Film Festival.
A member of The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) and a Berlinale Talents Screenwriters alumna since 2009, I participated in international film festivals (Cannes and Berlin among others) as a film critic and served as a juror at national film festivals in Turkey and my local BendFilm Festival.
Currently, one of the things that I spend most of my time doing is serving the festival circuit as Head of Programming at BendFilm Festival in Oregon, USA.
I love studying film! I hold a B.A. and an M.A. in Film & TV Production from UK Universities.
I’m still rewriting and endlessly tweaking four of my feature-length screenplays and an episodic TV project, in addition to researching for a new script. I have been in the throes of writing, editing and audio recording my book, Adventures in Screenwriting: How One Writer Navigates the Dire Straits, coming out on Amazon in the next few months!
When not screenwriting and festival programming, you can find me–semi-successfully–mothering my two sons alongside a husband whose availability for childcare and cooking is what makes all of the above possible.
In any case, I have a knack for this. So try me!
